KOREA OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP
Players in the following categories are eligible for KOLON THE 61st KOREA OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.
The championship shall be decided by strokes over four rounds of 18 holes stroke play. In the event any round of a tournament shall be rained out or cannot be held for whatever reason, prizes advertised shall be distributed if at least two rounds (36 holes) of the tournament is completed.
Thursday, 21 June 2018 .....First round, 18 holes
Friday, 22 June 2018 ..........Second round, 18 holes
After the above 36 holes are completed(In the event of failure to complete 36 holes, due to inclement weather conditions, the Cut-Off shall be decided by 18 holes), The 60 lower professional scorers and any tying for the 60th place shall be eligible for 3rd and Final Round. The number of amateur qualifiers will be decided by the tournament committee.(Amateur scoring lower than professional Cut-Off shall be eligible for 3rd and Final Round.)

Lowest scorer over the four rounds will be the winner. In the event of tie after four rounds, the winner will be decided by a play-off by stroke play over three holes (Hole #16, #17 and #18). The play-off will start as soon as practicable after the last competitors have finished their round. The competitor with the lowest aggregate over the three extra holes will be declared the winner. If the competitors are still tied having played these three holes, a hole by hole play-off will be played immediately over the 18th hole only until a winner emerges. If the play-off involves more than 2 competitors, those other than the winner will be deemed to have tied for 2nd place regardless of their scores in the play-off. Tie for low amateur shall be decided by a card countback. The card countback will use the final round total score or back 9 or 6 or 3 or 2 or 1 hole and, if a tie still arises, will use the same method to the 3rd or 2nd or 1st round. In the event of more than two amateur players playing the play-off, the result of the play-off takes priority over the card countback.
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by R&A, local rules by the Tournament Committee.
Any driver the player carries must have a clubhead, identified by model and loft, that is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by the R&A.
A player's clubs must conform to the groove specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January 1, 2010 (on the current list of conforming grooves issued by R&A).
The ball the player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the R&A.
During a stipulated round, the balls a player plays must be of the same brand and model as detailed by a single entry on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the R&A.
When a player discovers that he has played in breach of this condition, he must abandon that ball before playing from the next teeing ground and complete the round with the proper ball; otherwise, the player is disqualified. If discovery is made during play of a hole and the player elects to substitute a proper ball before completing that hole, the player must place a proper ball on the spot where the ball played in breach of the condition lay.
Groups and time of starting will be laid down by the Tournament Committee.
Privilege for official practice round at Woojeong Hills Country Club is extended to players in the championship on Wednesday, 20 June 2018. All participants should book the tee time through KGA. Players from the AsianTour categories should book through AsianTour.
When play is suspended by the Committee for a dangerous situation, if the players in a match or group are between the play of two holes, they must not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If they are in the process of playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately and not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If a player fails to discontinue play immediately, he is disqualified, unless circumstances warrant waiving the penalty as provided in Rule 33-7.
The following signals are used in the case of discontinuance and resumption:
- Discontinue Play Immediately: One prolonged note of siren.
- Discontinue Play: Three consecutive notes of siren, repeated.
- Resume Play: Two short notes of siren, repeated.
The player must play without undue delay (Rule 6-7).

Players must be neat in appearance with respect to clothing and personal grooming.
Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorised by the Committee.
※ PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION: Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round – Four strokes (two strokes at each of the first two holes at which any breach occurred).
If a breach is discovered between the play of two holes, it is deemed to have been discovered during play of the next hole, and the penalty must be applied accordingly.
The KGA may arrange for (i) promotion of the Championship, for radio, internet and television broadcasting and other exhibition and publication of the Championship or excerpts thereof in any and all media throughout the world, whether now known or hereafter developed, and (ii) the design, manufacture and sale of merchandise which commemorates or memorializes the Championship, throughout the world. By this application, the player consents to the use by the KGA, or persons authorized by the KGA, of her name, likeness, voice and references to her and photographs and other images of her and her play connected with her appearance in the Championship, or any portion(s) thereof, in connection with such media promotion, broadcasting and other exhibition and publication of the Championship and design, manufacture and sale of commemorative merchandise.
The winner and runner-up will be eligible to compete in The 147th Open to be played at Carnoustie, 19~22 July 2018.
Note 1: In the event of two or more tying in the same position, the eligibility will be given to the player with the highest Official World Golf Ranking (www.owgr.com/ranking).
Note 2: In the event of the winner and/or runner-up already being exempted to The Open, the eligibility will be given to an alternate who finished in the top 8 and ties.
