“1R. Han Seungsu Takes Sole Lead in 1st Round, One Step Ahead in the Championship Race”

Only 18 players out of the 144 participants managed to record under-par scores.

Starting on the morning round from the 10th hole, Han Seungsu made a fresh start with consecutive birdies on the 11th and 12th holes. His impressive momentum continued as he added more birdies on the 14th and 16th holes. After a single bogey on the 18th hole, he finished the back nine with two more birdies, completing the first round with a 5-under-par (66).

On the second day of KOLON Korea Open, Han Seungsu recorded a 2-under-par (69), bringing his total score to 7-under-par (135). He continues to lead the tournament.

In the front nine, Han Seungsu exchanged two birdies and two bogeys. However, he surged ahead with consecutive birdies on the 13th, 16th, and 17th holes in the back nine.

Lee Jae-kyung started with a birdie on the first hole, getting off to a good start. With an additional birdie on the 5th hole, he reduced his score by two strokes on the front nine. Despite a bogey on the 13th hole, he recovered with consecutive birdies on the 16th and 17th holes, finishing with a 3-under-par (68).

During the 3rd round of the KOLON Korea Open, Han Seungsu recorded a score of 72, with two birdies and one double bogey. He managed to hole the lead position.

The defending champion of the 2021 KOLON Korea Open, Lee Junseok recorded 3-under-par (68) in the third round, tying with Ian Snyman.

At the end of the 3rd round, only five players managed to finish with an under-par score.

Han Seungsu secured victory in the final round of the 65th KOLON Korea Open Championship with the only under-par-score (6-under-par, 278) in the tournament. He started the first day as the sole leader, and for the first time in 38 years, he maintained a wire-to-wire lead. He finished 6 strokes ahead of the runner-up.

Despite facing strong competition, Han Seungsu secured the victory with a solid performance in the final round, which included two birdies, one bogey, and one double bogey.

Kang Kyungnam finished second with an even-par (71), earning a spot in the upcoming The Open Championship.

Defending champion Kim Minkyu tied for 4th place at 2-over-par, alongside Lee Junghwan, and others.
