2010 Tournament

Yong guns fly high

The 53rd Kolon Korea Open’s main tournament started. Two Korean rookies, Seung-yul Noh and Sung-hoon Kang, shot a 67 and finished at the top of the leader board with John Huh and Ronald Harvey from Canada. However, Anthony Kim, Y.E. Yang, and other invited players had a rough day.

Yoo got Jackpot

Seung-yul Noh, one of the co-leaders in the first round, exhibited a great performance again and finished at a total of 8 under. Another sensational rookie in the first round, Sung-hoon Kang, turned in a steady 4 under par. Danny Lee jumped in to third place at 3 under. Ronald Harvey, who shared the lead in the first round, went down to 4th place with Ho-sung Choi and Anthony Brown. One superstar, Anthony Kim, unfortunately failed to advance to the next round. As a side note, Jong-ku Yoo made a hole-in-one on the 13th and was awarded a BMW 745i.

Ishikawa and Mcllroy leading the third round

Seung-yul Noh succeeded in lowering his scores three consecutive rounds. He shot a 70 and maintained his lead at nine-under. Surprisingly, Bio Kim finished the 3rd round five strokes under par at 66 and rose to second place. Although Sung-hoon Kang, who finished four strokes behind Seung-yul Noh in the second round, had a bogey, he remained in third place.

Sang Moon Bae wins the second title in 18 years

Y.E. Yang had a dramatic finish in the fourth round and won his second green jacket at the Kolon Korea Open. When he sat seven strokes behind the lead in the first round, a winning seemed unattainable. However, he made five birdies in the fourth round and finished at 4-under for a 280. On the other hand, Seung-yul Noh, who led through the first 3 rounds, had a 79 at the end and fell to fourth place. Ho-sung Choi sat in the second with Bio Kim two strokes behind the lead.
