In the first round of the "Kolon 68th Korea Open Golf Championship," held amidst harsh weather conditions, Yang Ji-ho surged into the sole lead by racking up 9 birdies.
On the 21st, during the first round of the tournament held at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, Yang carded a 6-under 65—combining 9 birdies and 3 bogeys—to place his name at the very top of the leaderboard.
Jung Yoo-jun, who also held the sole lead in the first round of last year's Kolon Korea Open, carded a 5-under 66 with 7 birdies on this day, securing sole possession of second place.
Jung shared, "My shot felt great, which gave me a lot of short birdie putt opportunities." He added, "The longest birdie putt was only about 7 meters, and capitalizing well on most of those short-distance chances allowed me to post a good score.“
Meanwhile, following the conclusion of the second round on the 22nd, players tied for 60th place or higher at the Kolon 68th Korea Open will advance to the final rounds to compete in the third round.

Yang Ji-ho, the sole leader from the first round, maintained his momentum in the second round with a stable performance. He boosted his chances of winning by playing unshakably even under Woo Jeong Hills' characteristically challenging course setup.
Bae Sang-moon carded a 3-under 68 with 5 birdies and 2 bogeys, placing second and trailing the leader Yang Ji-ho by 4 strokes. Bae expressed his confidence, saying, "Although it was a very long time ago, I have won here twice, so I feel confident about this course.“
Abraham Ancer surged into the title contention during the second round, carding an 8-under with 8 birdies and 2 bogeys to jump from tied 67th on the previous day to tied 3rd.

· May 23, 2026 (Saturday)
· Woo Jeong Hills Country Club (Par71 / 7,361 yards)
· Total Prize Money: 1.4 billion won (Winner's Prize: 500 million won)
In the third round of the "Kolon 68th Korea Open Golf Championship," Yang Ji-ho delivered yet another dominant performance to maintain his position as the sole leader.
Yang, who has been holding the sole lead since the first round, will achieve a meaningful milestone of a wire-to-wire victory if he maintains his lead until the final day of the
tournament. Furthermore, he is drawing even more attention because he advanced to the final rounds through the tournament qualifiers. As there has never been a case in Korea Open
history where a qualifier took the title, a victory would write a historic first for the tournament.
Charlie Lindh of Sweden carded a 3-under par on this day, moving into sole possession of second place with a 7-under par total. Armed with consistent shot making and stable putting,
Lindh will challenge for a comeback victory in the final round. Wang Jeung-hun also made a big jump in the standings on this day, joining LIV Golf's Abraham Ancer (Mexico) in a tie
for third place.
In addition, Kim Hak-hyung, Lee Jung-hwan, Jeong Chan-min, and Bae Sang-moon continued their contention near the top of the leaderboard by forming a group tied for fifth.
Kim Seong-hyeon, Kang Kyung-nam, and Kim Chan-woo also placed their names at tied ninth, entering the race for a top-10 finish. Meanwhile, Kim Min-kyu was disqualified due to a
scorecard signing error (incorrect score entry).

Yang Ji-ho maintained his lead until the very end at the "Kolon 68th Korea Open Golf Championship" (total purse of 1.4 billion KRW) to lift his first-ever Korea Open trophy.
On the 24th, during the final round held at Woo Jeong Hills Country Club in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province, Yang closed out a stable performance to claim the title with a four-day
total of 9-under 275 (65-67-67-76). Having never surrendered the lead from the opening day to the final whistle, Yang also achieved the meaningful milestone of becoming the 14th
wire-to-wire winner in the tournament's history. This marks the first wire-to-wire victory at the event in three years, since Han Seung-su in 2023.
With this victory, Yang secured his first lifetime national title, adding to his two previous KPGA Tour wins. He will pocket a total of 700 million KRW—combining the 500 million
KRW winner's check with a 200 million KRW special bonus that does not count toward the official money rankings—and earned a spot in The Open Championship, which will be held this
July at Royal Birkdale Golf Club in the UK. Furthermore, he secured a 5-year exemption on the KPGA Tour and a 2-year exemption on the Asian Tour.
Kim Min-su, ranked No. 2 in the KGA rankings, finished with a total of 4-under 284 to tie for 8th place, earning the Best Amateur honors for the second consecutive year.
In particular, he fired a daily-best 4-under 67 in the final round alone, once again proving his presence as a next-generation prospect poised to lead Korean men's golf,
following his impressive performance last year.
